Title: Staff Accountant

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred or relevant prior work experience
• Experience in Great Plains, or similar general ledger software

As Staff Accountant you play a role in our Financial Services team to analyze, negotiate, and prepare financial activities within our growing organization. This individual will work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive leadership teams.

On a day-to-day basis, this role includes tasks such as financial recordkeeping, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Become familiar with DataServ policies and procedures
• Represent DataServ in a positive manner to colleagues, customer base and vendors
• Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls and efficiencies
• Communicate risks and opportunities and advise management, as necessary
• Maintain all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, inventory and fixed assets
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current company financial position
• Coordinate and execute month-end closing activities including the completion of all needed journal entries, maintain accuracy of general ledger
• Process customer invoices for certain revenue streams and review billing batches
• Produce and maintain revenue recognition reports
• Monitor employee expense reimbursement and analyze for compliance
• Review and post A/P transactions
• Assist with sales commission calculations, reconciliations, and payments to applicable team members
• Manage inventory workflow, tracking valuation and reconcile monthly
• Tracking operating lease for accounting accuracy
• Prepare sales and use tax reporting and file with agencies
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and schedules, and assist others with coding questions
• Ongoing and year end work with external auditors to prepare documents and respond to inquiries
• Understand USAC School and Libraries Division E-rate program and bill and collect monies for customer projects per program requirements
• Provide redundancy and backup support for other team members
• Be a supportive team member to others
• All other duties as assigned

Proficiencies we seek:

• Experience with databases preferred
• Experience with technology manufacturers (i.e. Cisco, Microsoft, HP, Dell, etc.) preferred
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to proofread
• Critical thinking skills

Pre-employment driver’s license check, background check, and drug screening are required.
